1.
Fading memory. Cold and very silent memory. Tones from a twisting verse-- cold and silent.
2.
I walked my dreams to the shore and they grew old. The clouds were worn-- the future sold. I walked my dreams to the shore where tomorrow had been. The echoes of who we were still traced in the wind. Our voices rode like thunderstorms upon the breeze. There we were-- young and bright. There we were-- in love and alive. The tired faces-- the worn out places-- were all gone. We stood like gods atop the mountain and drank to our domain, resting there miles below and worlds away. I cast my gaze to the surf and watched it crash. The embers of all that the set ablaze now cooled to ash. Our voices rode like thunderstorms upon the breeze. Our fears grew faint as spots of light danced through the leaves. There we were-- young and bright. There we were-- awake and alight. But tired faces and worn out places... It's all gone.

The summer is over, and it's been another year. The moment has gone, but I'm still here. The colors are changing. I never saw you go. The words are there, but spoken in monotone. The summer is over, and so it has to be. It's easy to fake it, but it's so hard to believe. The days all fly by. The nights drag on. I'll keep on talking when everyone is gone. We flooded the sky with our hopes. We flooded the sky with our tears. I'm chasing ghosts as they disappear. Wherever you are, you're glowing. Wherever you are, you're free. You're laying with your eyes closed listening to the sea. The summer is over now. The months, like leaves, drift softly to the ground. And I dreamt I saw you standing with the wind in your hair. I awoke in the darkness hoping to see you there. But the summer is over now, and I'd give anything to bring it back somehow. We flooded the sky with our hopes. We flooded the sky with our tears. I'm chasing ghosts as they disappear.

Cloudburst 04:30
We swore we'd never live to see our skin revealed. The cloudburst and memory dump like hope concealed. We set our sights on the dim beyond and erased our names. The cloudburst like gasoline and burned away. I would fight, but I can't. Through the fade I heard you whisper. Looks like rain. What did you say? I can't remember. Like your pain, it echoed forever. I would go to you, but you know that I can't. Through the fade, I know I heard you whisper. Looks like rain. What did you say? I can't remember. Like your pain, it echoed forever. The days die by the hundreds and smear like sodden ashes.

You closed your eyes and let the waves carry you out to sea. The undertow ran overhead as you slipped away from me. You held your breath and looked away as you pulled back your hands. The fathoms embraced you and dragged you to the sand. Your scars were soft and your eyes aflame. The breeze kissed at your skin to the sound of the waves. Drifting off through the fog... Six years on, and I'm still here. Six years on, and you've reappeared. Drifting off through the fog... One day we would find our way and walk side by side. We'd laugh at all our failures and toss wishes to the tide. Long from now we'd wake one day to raindrops on the eaves, the cool light embracing us as we lay there and dream. The sea was calm. The silence stretched on. Six years on, and all that's left... Six years on, and here I am drifting off through the fog. If I could see you now, what would I say? You are just a memory-- unreal and washed away. There was a time when we had no doubts-- the world stretched forever on, and nothing faded out. There was a time when you gave yourself to me-- your hands were trembling gently, while I could hardly breathe. There was a time when all was in its place, but then the glow was gone-- the moment erased.

Thorn Yard 05:52
We put on our coats and we open the door. We breathe the air, and we ignore the war. It's so perfect tonight. You're so perfect tonight. I don't care who's wrong, or who's right. We're safe here; everything is alright. The world outside is so alive, and I know that someday our ship will arrive. We'll sail until the edge of the world, and plant our flags for our dreams unfurled. It's so perfect tonight. You're so perfect tonight. Our hopes are all in flight. We're safe together; everything is alright. And now the first step before we arrive is the first step toward the rest of our lives. Nothing could ever slow us down. Nothing will stop us now. Tip toe through the thorns. Hold on. There's nothing I need more. Struck down with fear in your eyes. Don't go. This cannot be goodbye. Please, please just don't leave. Please, you're all that I-- Tip toe through the thorns. Hold on. We've so much left in store. Crash down into the thorns. Hold on. There's nothing I need more. Please, please just don't leave. Please, you're all that I need.

I've no will left to fight through this endless night. I will wait here, and wait for your love. And I know that I made it hard to know who I really was, (Who am I?) but I got so lost in trying just because. (I was afraid.) And now that I'm trapped here all alone, I see at last what I've done. (I abandoned you.) And I wish I could tell you "I'm sorry." I'm so sorry, my love. Who are you? The snow that falls on you... Here I am. (There we were.) All for you. (So it goes.) Here I am. (There we were.) All for you. (No one knows.) I will wait here. I will wait for you. Until the sky falls down and comes to claim us all. I will wait here. (The snow that falls on you.) I will hope for you. (The snow that falls...) I will close my eyes (Mercy) and see you in the dark (for eternity.) until the dark is all I see. I will wait for you.
